'What Kind of Old Do You Want to Be?'
Create your own beautiful headpiece; perform your favourite song; story; dance and movement to music etc, share some of your favourite books and discover some of the great new reads or start work on your family tree; enjoy music appreciation with Luke Baxter; art classes and exhibiton with V.E.C.; go back in time with a visit to the Paddy Egan Farm Museum in Kenagh; one day cultural taster workshops in various art forms; Club '91 will celebrate their 21st anniversary as part of Bealtaine; Longford Community Gardai and Longford Library will host a Tea Dance in the Longford Arms Hotel and a representative from the HSE wil give a talk at this event. These are just some of the many things you can do as part of the annual Bealtaine festival in Longford and all events are free

Launch of Bealtaine Festival with perfomances from Active Age Groups from around the county, exhibition of arts and crafts and a special guest will open the festival and entertain the crowd. Starts at 2pm

‘The Mad Hatter’s Workshop’ with Wendy Louise Knight–Bring along your old hat and leave with a new modern creation fit for any great occasion. This workshop by a great Milliner living in Longford promises to be an exciting opportunity to create your own millinery masterpiece in collaboration with Lus na Gréine Family Resource Centre Ltd. 10am – 12.30pm

'Be Crafty' - Longford ICA will provide demonstrations on sewing, knitting, embroidery etc. in Ballymahon, Lanesboro, Longford libraries.
'Readers' Day' - talks and readings with local writers' groups in branch libraries. Dates to be arranged

'Do Your Own Family Tree' - or learn more about your local area with an afternoon with County Archivist Martin Morris. Date to be arranged
'Older & Bolder Creative Workshop' - exploring issues relevant to older people in a creative way. This event will be hosted by Rathmhuire Resource Centre. Date to be arranged

'Best Days of Your Life' - intergenerational project with active age groups - go back to school for a day and help to create memory box with local school students.
'In My Day' - grandparents go back to school for a day with their grandchildren at Abbeylara National School. Dates to be arranged
