Age & Opportunity

Bealtaine is coordinated  by Age & Opportunity, the Irish national organisation working to promote greater participation by older people in society. Check out the Age & Opportunity web site.

For Event Organisers

Register your events online

Be a part of the Bealtaine festival; register your event. You can register online if you have an ID number from your invitation letter. Register here. If you would like to register online but don't have an ID number, email bealtaine.online@ageandopportunity.ie or call us on (01) 805 7709.
You can still register using a paper form. Download the paper registration form as a PDF from here.

Please have your form to us by Tuesday, 14 February so that we can include you in our list of organisers. If you send your form after that, we will still include it on the Bealtaine website but it may not be included in our printed list of organisers or the listings we supply.

The Bealtaine theme for 2012

This year’s Bealtaine festival theme is ‘What kind of old do you want to be?’ It recognises that, as older people, are not one homogeneous group; we are individuals with widely differing talents, interests and needs.

Logos and print

We are keen that your individual event is clearly identifiable as part of the nationwide Bealtaine festival and to enable you to brand your information, the general Bealtaine logo and individual county logos are available to download.
We have also included tips for tailoring the design of printed materials to your older audience.

You may notice, we have changed our logo strapline for 2012 from ‘creativity in older age’ to ‘creativity as we age’ (this is so that ‘old’ is not seen as a destination you reach but rather a process or journey).

Suggestions and ideas for Bealtaine 2012

The Bealtaine team would be delighted to talk about ideas or potential partners you could work with in your local area. Have a look at last year’s Bealtaine programme for some inspiration.

This year is also the European Year of Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations so keep this in mind when you are thinking of what kind of events you are organising. And don't forget that 'intergenerational' doesn't just mean with schools; why not try an event that brings together older people together with, for example, college students, new mothers or younger workers.
